Wood chip wallpaper is probably the most difficult type of wallpaper to remove. some wood chip wallpaper will have been on the walls for several decades and is notoriously difficult to remove.. I am stripping woodchip right now and i have found the best way is to soak, soak, soak. yes if there are lots of coats of paint it is more difficult. i use a water spray bottle and start soaking long before scraping. so obviously start at the top about the width of a sheet of paper and soak, then soak again after 15/20 mins and continue.. The best way to strip woodchip wallpaper is to first use a hedgehog. this is a small pole with a small roller at one end, the roller has spikes it hence the word hedgehog. you rub the walls all over this puts small holes everywhere, this allows water/steam to penetrate the woodchip helping you to strip easier..
